Cassie Danz is a serious games researcher who studies how digital play supports emotional regulation, engagement and wellbeing. She focuses on casual and mobile games as accessible wellness tools and examines how narrative, autonomy and brief reflective activities influence stress, motivation and player experience. Her work draws on psychology, human-computer interaction and culturally participatory design, with an emphasis on collaboration, lived experience and community guidance throughout development. Cassie is Content Director for Virtual Qaggiq, working with Inuit youth, Elders and community partners to build culturally grounded game environments that combine storytelling, learning and evidence-informed wellness strategies. She also serves as Treasurer of the International Society for Research on Internet Interventions. Before entering research, Cassie worked in international fund administration in Canada, the Netherlands and Singapore. She now applies those strengths in data ethics, workflow design and systems thinking to digital intervention research with a focus on wellbeing through play.
